When: Friday, December 29, 2006 - 7:00 p.m..
Where: Start and finish at Wooddale Park, on the corner of Wooddale Ave and W. 50th St. just a few blocks west of downtown Edina at 50th and France.
Race Course: This gently rolling course winds through the neighborhoods around the Edina Country Club and runs past Wooddale Park, Utley Park, Arden Park, and along Minnehaha Creek. The course finishes in the Country Club neighborhood north of Wooddale Park. This fast, USATF certified out-and-back course is well protected by trees and houses, lit with festive winter decorations and well supported with cheering spectators.
Awards/Giveaways: The Winter Waddle is a chip-timed race, timed by Minnesota Champion Chip, and results will be made available almost immediately after the race. All race participants will receive a goodie bag stuffed with a commemorative t-shirt designed by GEAR Running Store’s graphic artist, Jason Lehmkuhle, member of TEAM USA MN, the Olympic Development program based in Minneapolis.
Prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female winner, winners of all age groups and special prizes will be awarded to the largest group (family or organization) and to the best warm weather costume.
Post Race Party: Join us at one of our famous area restaurants for our traditional post race gathering. All participating restaurants will be offering food and drink specials for anyone with a Winter Waddle race number. Seating will be reserved, special raffle prizes will be given out and dedicated servers will be providing drink specials from our sponsors Corona, Pacifico, Negra Modelo and Tsingtao.
